HSP Partner Conducts COVID-19 Safety Training With Students & Teachers To Help Reopen Schools In Pakistan

HSP Partner, Dr. Bashir Ahmad visited a school in the Balochistan province of Pakistan in order to give a COVID-19 preventative measures training to 20 school children and their teachers.

The Pakistani government recently re-opened schools in the country and issued a series of standard operating procedures to help ensure student and teacher safety during the pandemic. However, there is concern that these procedures are not being followed because there has been an increase in the amount of cases. Given this reality, Dr. Ahmad developed his training to help protect the health of local schools.

During the training, the students and teachers were educated about COVID-19, the routes of viral transmission, as well as different safety measures such as mask wearing, social distancing, frequent handwashing, and the use of hand sanitizer. The school administration and teachers were also advised to avoid overcrowding and follow the Pakistani government’s procedural guidance.

At the conclusion of the session, the school administration said they appreciated the efforts of Dr. Ahmad, were determined to follow the safety measures, and would pass along information to nearby schools.
