HSP Supports Participation of 2021 Pakistan Biosecurity Champions Fellow in the Global Young Scientists Summit

HSP supported the participation of one of its 2021 Pakistan Biosecurity Champions Fellows, Mr. Awais Qasim, to attend the Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS) from 17 – 20 January 2023 in Singapore. During the summit, Mr. Qasim interacted with Nobel Prize Laureates and young and senior scientists with diverse academic and cultural backgrounds from around the globe. He presented his research work and participated in panel discussions on key topics such as science communication, careers beyond academia, and revolutionary tools for science. With a high level of interest in science communication and diplomacy, Mr. Qasim shared that this participation in GYSS was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for him. “I found Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS) to be an incredible platform,” said Mr. Qasim. “The plenary lectures and discussion sessions were quite insightful for me. Moreover, delivering my presentation in front of peers and fellows was a great experience. Along with the scientific immersion, the cultural exchange with fellow scientists from different countries, eating local food, and visiting beautiful places in Singapore sweetened the experience. I am thankful to HSP and GYSS for providing me with this opportunity.” HSP is thankful that Mr. Qasim will share knowledge learned during this summit with others.
