Advanced Biorisk Management Training Program

HSP, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State – Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation, Biosecurity Engagement Program (BEP) and the Malaysian Biosafety and Biosecurity Association (MBBA), hosted the first phase of a three phase advanced biorisk management training program from 23 September- 4 October 2024. The first phase took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Participants consisted of biorisk officers from multisector research institutions across Malaysia. Throughout Phase 1 of the program, participants took part in lectures, group discussions, exercises, and demonstrations. Topics include: introduction to biosafety, biosecurity, and biorisk management, laboratory safety, biological risk assessment, mitigation strategies, administrative control, waste management, and transportation and shipping best practices.
