HSP Hosts an Interactive Session on “International Biosecurity Opportunities for Young Scientists” for its Biosecurity Champions Fellows

HSP hosted an interactive session on "International Biosecurity Opportunities for Young Scientists" for its Pakistani biosecurity champions fellows as part of its Biosecurity Champions Fellowship. This fellowship is a training program aimed at developing a network of life and medical science professionals poised to become biosecurity leaders in Pakistan. Over the last decade, international biosecurity organizations have developed similar programs that allow young scientists to learn about scientific diplomacy and build their biosecurity professional networks. HSP’s session this week aimed to explore career opportunities for the new generation of global biosecurity professionals trained to deal with biothreats. This session will help our fellows in continuing their biosecurity education and learning process, as well as contributing to their understanding of how they might ensure a more safe and secure world by becoming a biosecurity leader in Pakistan. Speaker for this session was Ms. Mayra Belén Ameneiros from Argentina. She is a consultant and professor on biosafety and biosecurity and has a postgraduate degree in international security, disarmament and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Ms. Belén Ameneiros has led many biosecurity initiatives across the globe and is an incredibly wonderful resource. HSP thanks her for discussing these opportunities and her unique experiences with our fellows.
