HSP Participates In Iraq's First International Medical Sciences Conference

Over the weekend, HSP participated in Iraq's first International Medical Sciences Conference, a three-day virtual event organized by Al-Mustaqbal University. The conference, which occurred from June 28th-30th, was attended by our 2019 Iraq Health Security Stewards Fellows and ceremoniously marked the culmination of their fellowship with the receipt of their certificates of completion and a graduation message delivered by HSP’s Executive Director, Dr. Jason Rao.

The conference included several virtual talks and poster session-style programs, featuring presentations from HSP's Fellows. HSP staff, Dr. Jason Rao and Dr. Prasad Kuduvalli were graciously invited to participate in the event as expert speakers. Jason delivered a keynote talk on “The Need for International Collaboration and Science Diplomacy to Respond to the COVID-19 Pandemic.” The workshop also featured a forum, which was co-chaired by HSP’s Dr. Prasad Kuduvalli, titled “COVID-19: Infection Control and Treatment Protocols,” with experts from the UK, Australia, Iran, and India. We congratulate our outstanding fellows and are thrilled to have had the opportunity to participate in this inaugural international event.
