HSP to Partner With the BioRisk Association of the Philippines (BRAP2015) to Deliver Two Toxin-Related Biosecurity Workshops in December 2022
Health Security Partners (HSP) is pleased to partner with the BioRisk Association of the Philippines (BRAP2015) to deliver two toxin-related biosecurity workshops in December 2022. The audience of the first workshop will consist of toxicologists, researchers working on toxins or their source materials, and health professionals working in poison centers. This workshop will raise awareness of the threat, diversion, and misuse of toxins and their source materials, how to best secure toxin source materials, and how to report toxin security incidents. The second toxin workshop will be customized for producers and sellers of toxin source materials, such as castor, jatropha, and rosary peas, and will include sellers on online e-commerce platforms. The producers and sellers will have the opportunity to share their own biosecurity strategies and plans, and discuss challenges and successes in implementing safety and security practices. Each 2-day workshop will engage approximately 30 participants. Training will be delivered by national and international experts through lectures, case studies, and breakout group discussions to develop locally-led solutions. Stay tuned for future announcements on this two-part training.
