Building Stronger Research Security Frameworks for International Bioscience Collaboration
Health Security Partners (HSP) conducted a three-day workshop on Strengthening Institutional Research Security Oversight and International Collaboration in Bioscience Research from April 8-10, 2026, in Istanbul, Turkiye, with participants from academic and research institutions across Türkiye. The workshop brought together 36 researchers, technical specialists, and institutional representatives to discuss evolving challenges related to research security, cybersecurity awareness, incident response, data protection, and responsible international collaboration. Through presentations from international and local subject-matter experts, panel discussions, scenario-based exercises, and collaborative SOP development activities, participants explored practical approaches to strengthening institutional oversight, improving coordination across departments, and supporting secure and responsible management of research data, materials, and collaborative partnerships within increasingly digital and interconnected research environments.
