HSP Scholarship Cohort 2024: Technical Progress Update

Health Security Partners (HSP) is pleased to share that, through our collaboration with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Indonesia Country Office, all current Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) scholarship recipients are progressing on schedule.

During a virtual progress review on 6 Jan 2026, 8/8 scholars reported steady advancement: thesis proposal seminars completed or scheduled, all oral/poster presentation requirements fulfilled, and manuscripts in drafting or publication stages. Scholars reported strengthened competencies in applied epidemiology, including surveillance analysis, outbreak investigation, epidemiological study design, program evaluation, data interpretation, and scientific communication.

Importantly, all scholars intend to return to their home institutions after graduation, with many planning to serve in district and provincial surveillance and epidemiology roles, directly strengthening Indonesia’s public health workforce.
