Strengthening One Health collaboration in the Philippines
In January 2026, U.S. CDC and Health Security Partnerssupported the One Health Zoonotic Disease Prioritization (OHZDP) in the Philippines, in collaboration with the Philippine Inter-Agency Committee on Zoonoses (PhilCZ).
The workshop brought together representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Department of Health (DOH), and the Department of Agriculture (DA) to engage across the human, animal, and environmental health sectors. The activity was conducted in collaboration with the U.S. CDC Philippines Country Office, U.S. CDC’s One Health Office and international partners.
Through this multisectoral process, participants jointly identified and prioritized zoonotic diseases of national concern and developed next steps and action plans to strengthen coordination and support evidence-based preparedness, prevention, and response under the One Health approach.
